  • “The author has captured the excitement of pursuing hidden treasure while creating this unique Armchair Treasure Hunt. His trail through the annals of history has uncovered much new information about his characters, previously lost and buried in archives around the world.”

Doug Pearson was born in 1941 in Yorkshire where much of the story of The Bossall Treasure unfolds. The son of a railway clerk he attended Snapethorpe School in Wakefield and The Wakefield Technical School where he studied engineering. He left school at fifteen with no real qualifications but with a strong desire to create things.

He is married with three children and nine grandchildren. In 1971 he moved to live in Lytham in Lancashire and since retirement from business in 1997 divides his time between Lytham and his house in Menorca with his wife Cathie.

Following his retirement he embarked on a long held ambition to research and write his family history. That resulted in six years work and two large illustrated volumes. The Bossall Treasure grew from finding the true story of the Bossall Treasure while researching his own family history. His nine times great grandfather had been steward for Sir Robert Belt, Lord of Bossall Manor in the early 1600’s. The story, largely based on true characters and well-documented facts, led him to write The Bossall Treasure and to create an Armchair Treasure Hunt.

His lifelong interest in art and graphic design has enabled him to illustrate his books.
